Woo Lae Oak Is Closing

Weeks after it was announced that Savoy will close next month (Robert Sietsema subsequently penned a short elegy; Edible Manhattan has a longer remembrance; and Lost City paid a final visit this weekend), news comes that another Soho fixture is on its way out. Sceney nouveau-Korean pioneer Woo Lae Oak will close at the end of the month. A good-bye letter posted on Eater explains that “sadly we were unable to renegotiate our lease further so our last day of business is scheduled for Sunday, May 29, 2011.” Looks like it’s all over unless a deep-pocketed fan like Donald Trump Jr. can save the day, but K-town sister spot Bann will remain open.
