Ryan Maxey and Ian Begg, who’ve been running Naked Lunch out of the small space next door to Enrico’s for the last few years — the space shares Enrico’s kitchen in fact — jumped at the chance to take over the Enrico’s spot to build the Basque tapas restaurant of their dreams. Now Txoko (504 Broadway) is on deck for late May, and Begg tells Eater that they’re planning to be open Tuesday through Sunday serving food until 1:30 a.m., making it an appropriate stop for North Beach revelers and industry folk alike. They’ve got a logo (at left), and they say one of their biggest inspirations for the restaurant is Aloña Berri, a modern Basque restaurant in San Sebastian, Spain.

Also, they say the interior won’t be changing much, except for some paneling, and they’ve removed Enrico’s old piano.
