What Are the Toughest Places in Town to Get a Reservation? Daily Meal Gets It Kind of Wrong.

The Daily Meal talked to someone at OpenTable to put together a list of the ten toughest places in San Francisco to get a reservation. The problem with their list? It’s wrong! It includes a number of well-known places around town (Zuni, Kokkari, Wayfare Tavern) with plenty of walk-in room, and easily getable reservations, at least on weeknights. And it neglects to include places where there really is no reservation to be had for weeks, and little option for walk-in. Case in point: We just tried to book a table at Wayfare Tavern on OpenTable for Friday May 20. The only thing available that night was 5 p.m., but if we waited a few days until Wednesday, May 25, we’d have our choice of multiple timeslots. We tried the same with Frances. The earliest available table? It’s in July. Cotogna? You’re looking at a 9:30 p.m. slot in early June, at best. Nice try, guys.
