Pollo A La Brasa Braces For A Big Move

Avast! What’s this towering above the churning waters of 8th Street and Western? A fresh charter high school? Michael Symon’s expensive new loft? Another KTown KFC? Not quite. Say hello to the new Pollo A La Brasa. After more than 20 years in that original hut we’ve come to love, the Peruvian chicken stand of our dreams will soon be leaving those grimy digs for this angular structure beside it, which has been under construction for many months now.

A date for the big move isn’t fixed yet, but once it takes place, the old building will be razed and turned into parking. The good news is that the menu won’t change and actually, there won’t even be too many more seats, just a little more room so your elbow isn’t bathing in your neighbor’s aji sauce. And of course, the building is new and much glossier. The restaurant certainly deserves to do whatever it pleases at this point and we’ll follow. Still, here’s hoping the spiffy new location won’t steal the soul away from the perfect recipe.
