Not content with his Meatyballs Mobile empire, it looks like Phillip Foss may be dipping his toe back into the fine dining world. According to the Tribune, Foss is going to open a new restaurant called El that will serve a “limited chef’s menu.” It plans to open in June. He’s describing it as “small, exclusive and probably BYOB,” and the Tribune notes that it “might fit 15-20 people.” Foss left the Lockwood back in August, and immediately launched Meatbaylls Mobile, which expanded and currently has three trucks out on the street. If all goes to plan, his crew will cook and sell meatballs during the day, and then do “more refined dishes by night.” The location is “just off of Western Ave.,” but we currently are unsure where that is considering Western is 23.5 miles long.
