Lemonade Opens in Brentwood; Pret A Manger Scouts Downtown

Altadena: The relatively young farmers market here is trying to go legit by securing an official permit to operate. In the past, the market has run through a membership and the signing of release forms. [LAW]
Brentwood: A new location of caterer Alan Jackson’s Lemonade is now open on Barrington. [Eater]
Culver City: Dig Lounge goes crazy for Five Guys Burger. We were not that impressed, but we agree on the fries. [Dig Lounge]
Downtown: Pret A Manger, the fancy quick-service sandwich shop from London (not NYC), is scouting locations in the neighborhood for its first L.A. store. [Eater]

Echo Park: Trader Joe’s has set up a fund for Michael “Micky” David, a 30-year-old staff member who was murdered by gunfire outside of the store on May 7th. [The Eastsider LA]
Hacienda Heights: Taiwan’s massive bakery and coffee chain, 85 C, is coming to its 606th location (its 2nd in L.A.) this July. [Eater]
Mid-City: Zach Brooks gives Bagel Broker a strong nod for having a bagel even a New Yorker can learn to love. [Midtown Lunch]
Santa Monica: Sadly, The Market at Santa Monica Place is not going to replace your farmers market anytime too soon and feels as tourist-driven as The DIning Deck here. Anyway, Feast saves you the trouble of going by showing you what’s inside [Feast]
Studio City: Um…a new cocktail-driven restaurant is opening here soon, but that’s absolutely all you are privy to at the moment. [Eater]
West Hollywood: Bar 1200 at Sunset Marquis has a new cocktail program. Steven Tyler might be there some night, but more likely, it will be Slash’s nephew with his strangely styled pals. [Feast]
-The Cat Club has changed names to Rock & Keilly’s Pub. Does this mean Stray Cats drummer “Slim” Jim Phantom is no longer involved? [Eater]
