Gourmet Live is offering up a listicle of the “50 Women Game-Changers” in the food world, on which Alice Waters sits at No. 2, right below Julia Child. Food blogger Pim Techamuanvivit (a.k.a. Chez Pim, a.k.a. David Kinch’s girlfriend) sits at No. 19, and New York Times Cookbook author Amanda Hesser is No. 22. But back to Alice. Today she also sits down with the Journal to discuss the White House vegetable garden and the new, non–Whole Foods “distribution system” for local vegetables that she envisions for the future, in which, obviously, we will all have to pay a lot more (more than Whole Paycheck even) for our food.
