We always sorta thought if a person wanted to enjoy the taste of Momofuku’s cereal milk at home, they’d, you know, take some Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, add milk, and voilà. But no. As Tasting Table reports today, it’s not the real thing unless you order Christina Tosi’s “sweet, toasted corn flakes” from the Momofuku online store and add your own half-gallon of milk (presumably the flakes then dissolve? This is unclear). Sure, they’re only $5, but there’s the matter of shipping and handling, not to mention the fact that you could just go buy some regular old Corn Flakes at the grocery store without having to input your credit card number into a website and you’d get pretty much the same result! However, the new cooking sauces the Changster has rolled out for Williams-Sonoma do sound good. There’s a “clay pot” variety with lemongrass, star anise, cinnamon, and coriander, and a “braising sauce” with pear and apple juices and habanero peppers. If you’re already drinking a regular cup of Momofuku Kool-Aid, the above items should complement nicely.
