Man, Bart Blatstein just can’t get a break these days! It seems like every time he puts out one proverbial fire at the Piazza another one flares up. First it was the Good Dog peeps exiting the Swift Half after their lease expired. Then came Speck’s epic meltdown. And just as he’s found a solutions for both quandaries with the opening of Gunners Run and Tony Rim taking over at Speck, the Inquirer reports that a bankruptcy judge has denied Blatstein’s request to force financially fraught A&P; from abandoning its lease on the still unopened Pathmark at Second and Girard. Blatstein hoped to free up the unfilled property for other supermarket operators interested in taking it over. Now it looks like he’s going to have to wait a little longer. [Inquirer]
