Check Out the Chef Demos from the National Restaurant Association Show

Richard Blais, Marcus Samuelsson, Rick Bayless, and Rick Tramonto were just a few of the celebrity chefs on hand over the weekend for the National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show. The event is the largest gathering of restaurant, foodservice, and lodging professionals in the whole nation, and, as you can imagine, it was a little overwhelming at times. There were dozens upon dozens of meetings, conferences, and talks given throughout the weekend. But we were there to see some chef demos, and we were not disappointed.

Fresh off his win on Top Chef: All Stars, Richard Blais seemed to be biggest draw of the weekend. But basically all of the chef events were packed. Bayless, who is no stranger to these sorts of demos, also had his own hoard of fans. It was also fun to see Rick Tramonto back in town. He gave a demo with John Folse, who he is now working with down in New Orleans. Also we ran into Top Chef season 7 winner, Kevin Sbraga. But don’t take our word for it. Blais talks about the wonders of sous-vide. 
Of course, Chicago’s own Top Chef Master made an appearance.
A former star of the Chicago culinary scene returned for the weekend. 
The winner of Top Chef season 7 also came out for the event.
The founder and owner of the artisanal bakery had a booth at the event. 
The mixologist for Double A also took home $5,000 after he won the Star of the Bar competition.
