Chefs Hiro Sone (Terra, Ame) and Sho Kamio (Yoshi’s) are both natives of the Sendai region of Japan, and they were joined at Prospect on Sunday by several other local chefs with whom they toured the region two years ago on a culinary excursion, to cook a benefit dinner that raised $42,000 for disaster relief. The other chefs cooking were Prospect executive chef Ravi Kapur, Perbacco’s Staffan Terje, Sone’s wife and pastry chef Lissa Doumani, Bruce Hill (Bix, Picco, Zero Zero), and former Oliveto chef Paul Canales. Grub Street wasn’t there, but today Prospect tweeted out some photos of the dishes served, with each chef doing a course, and they look pretty amazing so we thought we’d compile them and share — purely for the sake of giving you your food porn fix.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the dinner went to charity, with all the product and chefs’ time donated. A second, more casual event at Yoshi’s, hosted by Sho Kamio and featuring another group of chefs, happens on Saturday. That event is already sold out.
