As reported earlier, Manresa is undergoing a fairly extensive redesign that is going to shift the entrance of the restaurant, add a few seats, and add a ten-seat bar and cocktail lounge for pre-dinner drinks. Today we get the official word that chef-owner David Kinch and co. plan to debut the new design in June, including two dining areas separated by the lounge, a backlit bar as a focal point with an alabaster mother of pearl backing, and four outdoor seats. Kinch says that the idea is to “add pleasure to the overall dining experience,” where you arrive in a relaxed setting, like a dinner party at a friend’s house, and perhaps even place your dinner order while enjoying a cocktail, before being seated at your table. The new cocktail program will be directed by Wine Director Jeff Bareilles. Do note: Manresa remains open throughout the renovation.
