It looks like the epic saga of Gioco is finally over, and luckily it’s a happy ending. Crain’s is reporting that the Jerry Kleiner and Howard Davis project, which had been closed by the state more than a month ago after “state taxes went unpaid,” will reopen tonight. While the owners always maintained that the restaurant would reopen, it honestly didn’t seem likely as the two had been closing restaurants at a frightening pace. But Gioco is definitely back, and during the break the owners also took the time to overhaul the menu and space. Talking to Crain’s, Mr. Kleiner claimed that the menu had been “refreshed” and that there would be “new details, new artwork, new chairs, some interesting twists.” [Crain’s]
