The second morning of the festivities at Pebble Beach Food & Wine has been a little touch and go for most people who stayed out for the after-party last night, ourselves included — and we heard a rumor from the always affable Nancy Oakes that there was an after-after party somewhere, but thankfully we didn’t find that one. The opening reception was a blur, and all we recall from the after event was seeing Anne Burrell arrive late with a small entourage of ladies; Daniel Boulud playing a race-car video game; Absinthe pastry chef Bill Corbett seriously throwing down on the dance floor alongside Daniel Boulud; and Billy Baldwin showing up with Chynna Phillips and eating lobster claws around midnight.
Above, we have a photo Twittered by publicist Michele Mandell, who managed to make it to Yigit Pura’s Pleasures of Chocolate demo this morning, bright and early at 10 a.m. She says, “Daniel Boulud just popped in to heckle his former pastry chef, Yigit Pura. Priceless.”
Yigit said Boulud still makes him nervous, and Daniel said Yigit had made him very proud. Aww.
