Supervisor Scott Wiener brings news that Trader Joe’s has decided once and for all that the Noe & Market shopping center is not for them, and will be too reliant on automobile traffic with inadequate space for parking. Wiener says he’s “disappointed about this outcome,” and this news comes just weeks after we heard the company would be making an end run to the Planning Commission in April regarding that location.
In brighter news, Mollie Stone’s is opening their new location in the former Delano’s at 18th and Collingwood tomorrow, March 9, at 9 a.m. It sounds like Wiener will be on hand to cut the ribbon, or whathaveyou. [Grub Street, Earlier]
