Ti Couz Shuttering Soon, After Nineteen Years at Valencia and 16th

We’re in the waning days in the life of nineteen-year-old Breton-style crêperie Ti Couz, as the rumors of the place being in trouble become more than just rumors. The Scoop spoke to a staffer there who wasn’t able to give a definite closing date but admitted it could be “any day now.” As we and Eater reported earlier, owner Sylvie LeMer had given up their liquor license a few months back and become a “cider bar,” which we noted didn’t bode so well. Now there’s further rumors about lease negotiation troubles, and we could venture that the building owners know that such a prime corner in the now fully food-obsessed Mission could probably be pulling in higher rents and a brisker business than Ti Couz has been doing of late. Sad, though, that one of the cornerstone businesses that helped define this neighborhood for so many years is getting edged out. Get in there fast if you are, like us, a fan of their scallop crêpe with seafood sauce. [Scoop, Earlier]
