Ooh Baby We Like It Raw

The Sushi Scoop: Mori Sold in West L.A.; Nozawa Opens Saturday To Raise Funds For Japan

Interesting fluctuations in L.A.’s sushi situation today. Eater reports that sushi master Mori has sold his eponymous West L.A. sushi spot to new owners, which could upset a whole lot of people if the impeccable quality and cool humor get cut out of the picture. Over in Studio City, Nozawa is skipping its usual Saturday night off to open this Saturday, March 26th, for the first time in ten years. Every dollar spent between 5:00 and 10:00 goes to the Japan Relief Fund. The following day, Sunday, each location of SugarFish will donate 25% of every dollar spent to the same fund. Where else can you catch raw fish and good karma?

In Downtown, Takami is still making good on its promise to donate 100% of all profits to Japan and come Sunday, if you want even more sushi while being a good Samaritan, Sashi Sushi plans its cherry blossom street food festival this Sunday with tickets still available at $40, with proceeds going to Jimmy Miller Foundation and Red Cross. Go fish!
