Yesterday Steve Cuozzo reported that Angelo & Maxie’s is set to become the latest in a spate of big restaurants to close, and today the steakhouse’s attorney tells The Wall Street Journal that “the [January] weather really got us,” so it’s filing for bankruptcy protection. Meanwhile, in a column addressing a Yelper who complained that his Hamptons restaurant ran out of food, Bruce Buschel blames the weather as well, though he admits he was partly in the wrong: “That there had been a snow storm that week and fishing boats were not arriving on schedule was our problem, not Mr. Cohen’s.”
