Yesterday, we touched on the hot dog offerings at PDT, and now you’ll be able to make them for yourself when the 370-page PDT Cocktail Book drops in October from Sterling Epicure. The book will include the “first printing ever of Wylie [Dufresne’s] deep-fried mayo recipe,” Meehan reveals to us. Even more exciting: The compendium presents recipes for every PDT cocktail from the time the bar opened until last spring, when Meehan had to submit copy. Also in store: Illustrations from artist Chris Gall, plus a section on bar design, which “no one has covered since the 1950s,” says Meehan. Those who know of the mixologist’s obsession with collecting bar menus won’t be surprised to find some pages devoted to “seasonal menu design,” and aspiring cocktail geeks can scope an annotated bibliography that recommends 90 books for further reading. At $24.95, the book’s cheaper than a couple of drinks at PDT!
