First Look at Pier 9, Serving Chicago-Style Lobster Hot Dogs Tomorrow

Four months after partnering with Agua Dulce and opening 9 next door, Eric Hara will open Pier 9 in the old Agua Dulce space tomorrow. It’s a casual seafood concept, so (obviously!) there’ll be a lobster roll, but don’t expect the usual New England fish shack purism: There’s a “crispy” section of fried food on the menu, and a steamers section as well, but the rest of it runs the gamut from seviche to sashimi to paella to, well, a foot-long “Chicago-style” lobster hot dog (take that, Ditch Dog!). For dessert, there’s a s’mores creation using a doughnut from nearby Holey Cream. Similarly outrageous cocktail creations include a martini that contains seaweed brine and a raw oyster, and another made with black-truffle brine, blue cheese, and truffle-stuffed olives. There’ll also be beers with nautical names (Shipyard, etc.) and, to seal the deal, wines from fishing towns! You can bet the decor is nautical as well — check it out via our slideshow and have a look at the menu below.
