Few locations in the city of Chicago are as consistently packed as Millennium Park, and only one high end restaurant is located right in the middle of it. Park Grill opened in 2003, and has seemed to maintain pretty healthy crowds over the years. So why are the owners hoping to sell the restaurant? It’s especially hard to understand when you consider that the restaurant had an extremely favorable lease which freed it from paying for water, gas, garbage pickup, or even property taxes! Chicagoist thinks the owners, and friends of Mayor Daley, may be getting out before Rahm decides to change the deal. Even the Sun-Times called the owners “clout-heavy,” a title that will definitely change once Daley leaves office.
