Looks like that “April first-ish” projected opening date for Grant Achatz’s Next is probably going to pass, as Nick Kokonas admitted on Facebook that the restaurant was “not quite” ready to open this week. What he did promise, however, was that a new e-mail update would be “coming shortly.” That means that those who signed up for the “notify me” link on Next’s website should soon be getting an e-mail that allows them to purchase tickets for the restaurant. We already knew that the tickets would be available in the order that people signed up, but if you’re confused on how it will all officially go down, Kokonas also clarified a few of the details.

Here’s Kokonas’s explanation on how the tickets would be sold:

Next tickets will become available in the following order:
1. Staff & Family
2. Numerical position on the “Notify Me” list in order that people signed up beginning last May – 500 emails every hour… so really depends on who checks their email when… still this seemed a fair way to do it.
3. Open ticketing to anyone.
– Nick

Basically, this means that you should start obsessively checking your e-mail starting now.
