It feels like every three months or so we find some reason to pick on Twin Anchors, which has been serving Chicago-style barbecue since 1932. We posted when Steve Dolinsky said their sauce had “more sugar than a birthday cake,” and also noted when Time Out’s Heather Shouse decided that it was not barbecue by “definition, not by practice and not by tradition.” Of course, Shouse did say it gets an “A for character and longevity,” which may explain why Emeril Lagasse was in town last night shooting at the historic restaurant for his new Cooking Channel show called “The Originals.” According to ABC, Lagasse will “dissect the secrets of success of historic restaurants,” and that the new show will air in May. This isn’t the first time someone has stuck up for the restaurant, as the Michelin Guide included it in its list of “Bib Gourmand” winners. So, are all the critics wrong? [312 Dining Diva, ABC]
