Matt Timms, a recent Food & Wine “40 Under 40” pick and organizer of Brooklyn’s Chili Takedown, Austin’s Bacon Takedown, and “>something called “The World’s Biggest Jerk-Off,” now has set his sights on L.A. Timms is currently calling for 20 creative local cooks to participate April 20th in the first Avocado Takedown at Echo Park’s Bootleg Theater, where the challengers will create their own strange and sundry recipes using supplied avocados from Mexico and guests get to try all of them for just $10.
