As Stephanie Izard pointed out this morning, Chicago has a pretty weak diner scene, especially compared to the East Coast. But that’s apparently all going to change. Along with Izard’s announcement of The Little Goat, Brendan Sodikoff, the man behind Gilt Bar, is planning to open a diner of his own. Hell, it’s even named after an animal, too! It’s called the Ox Diner, and according to the 312 Dining Diva, it will open in an “old industrial warehouse” in late summer. This caps off a productive 2011 for Sodikoff, who has already helped open Maude’s Liquor Bar, and is getting ready to launch The Doughnut Vault. [312 Dining Diva]
