Over the past three years, Daniel Zemans from Serious Eats has reviewed over a hundred pizzerias in the Chicago area. So we took immediate notice of his latest review, which declared that the recently opened Dough Boys is “already home to some of the best stuffed pizza and New York-style slices in Chicago.” What makes the stuffed so good? Well, the lard in the crust adds a “burst of fatty flavor running through the whole pie,” while the sauce has an “outstanding harmony of sweetness and tanginess.” Still, he thinks that if the sauce contained a little less oregano, “Dough Boys will be, by a significant margin, my favorite stuffed pizza in town.” [Serious Eats]
