Will Post Office Rekindle the Magic of Rusty Knot’s Bacon-and-Liver Sandwich?

In case Maison Premiere wasn’t throwback enough, Williamsburg is getting another old-timey drink den: Time Out reports that on February 15, Alla Lapushchik of Death & Co. is opening a whiskey bar, Post Office, featuring “eagle-emblazoned wallpaper and light fixtures fashioned out of whiskey decanters.” (Between the whiskey-decanter light fixtures and light fixtures made from growlers, two’s a trend!) Sam Glinn of the Brooklyn Star and Momofuku Ssäm Bar will do a chicken-liver-and-bacon sandwich that sounds a lot like the one his colleague Joaquin Baca installed at the Rusty Knot (that one had red-onion marmalade; this one has charred-onion mustard). And that alone is reason to go.
