Yesterday Pennsylvania’s House Liquor Control Committee unanimously approved a bill that if passed, will allow restaurants and bars to host happy hours for up to 14 hours! According to the Business Journal, the new legislation put forth by House Rep. John Payne (R-Dauphin) is intended to help boost the bottom line of struggling businesses throughout the Keystone State. The current law allow bars and restaurants to dispense happiness for only two hours each day, and caps the maximum number of cheap booze-fueled hours of joy at 14 per week. The newly proposed bill would allow bars and restaurants to host happy hours for as long as they like, provided they don’t exceed 14 hours per week. After a 14-hour bender, you’ll need a five-gallon bucket of Adsum’s foie gras poutine to soak up all that booze. [PBJ]
