Animal chef-owners Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo, despite cooking under the glare of the national spotlight, managed to open their second restaurant Son of a Gun fairly spontaneously and secretly this past Sunday night, providing a model for celebrity chefs everywhere of how to open a heavily anticipated project without 100 different bloggers bugging you to death for details. In other words, few of us had much of an idea when the restaurant would open and what it would look like. Today KevinEats shows the full picture of Son of a Gun, with a rundown of every dish and a look at the full menus of seafood and surprises. Among the highlights, the chefs are making a seven-dollar lobster roll, alligator schnitzel, and that chicken sandwich famously inspired by Dotolo’s obsession with Bakesale Betty’s, all with a surfeit of homemade sauces and a generous selection of shellfish. Take a look at the full menu in photos via Kevin Eats and see Son of a Gun’s website for updates on the daily changing menu and the complete rundown of their meat and produce purveyors.
