Stephanie Izard’s Girl & the Goat has been around for about half a year now, and, discounting exactly one local critic, it has managed to garner a series of incredibly positive reviews. It now can add one more to that list, as it has the honor of being the first restaurant that Saveur has ever reviewed. Though it doesn’t have a star rating, it is long. That allows the reviewer, Dana Bowen, to delve into long descriptions of a collection of dishes, which include the goat masala pizza, the ham frites, and shishito peppers. To say it’s a positive review is kind of an understatement. Bowen eventually admits that “after a few visits I got the sense that Izard was minting a new form, one that integrated truly global influences with a real omnivore’s creativity.” [Saveur]
