Radius (1123 Folsom), which rolled itself out slowly last year starting with a takeout/café operation in the former Julie’s Supper Club space, and eventually opening the full-service restaurant next door, has had a chef shuffle of late. The Scoop caught the scoop, and owner Jon Whitehead now tells Grub Street that opening chef Kelly Hughett has returned to New York on good terms, saying, “[She’ll] always be family to us. Ultimately, we simply had different visions for the restaurant long term.” Newly hired executive chef Matt Kerley comes to Radius after stints at Magnolia, Zinnia, Slow Club, and Myth, and Whitehead says his menu will be “less French-inspired [than Kelly’s] and more of a reflection of his San Francisco influences.”

Furthermore he says of Matt, “He’s so down-to-earth and has a true passion and enthusiasm for what he does. It really carries over to his cuisine.”

Look for the menu to transition over the coming weeks, with tweaks to existing dishes and a few new ones. The full new menu should be available in a month or so.
