If you thought it was tricky getting a table at Ludo Lefebvre’s pop-up restaurant LudoBites, his next gig won’t even get the chance to bust OpenTable apart at its binary seams. The L.A.-based French chef (named “Chef of the Future” in Time) is preparing the menu for Elton John’s 19th Annual AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party, where Florence + The Machine will play for all kinds of cool kids like Rashida Jones, Jane Lynch, Ellen and Portia, and Hugh Jackman. We’re still mostly jealous about the food though. And speaking of pop-ups and The Oscars, even awards show host James Franco is getting in on the thrills of owning an esoteric, underground venue, as he’s hosting the “after-after-after-after party” at his super-secret new bar “The Writer’s Room.” Well, not that secret, since L.A. Weekly pinpoints it in the rear of Hollywood’s raging new supperclub. Hey Franco, we’re writers, can we come too? [Luxist]
