London Candy Co. Will Bring British Cupcakes (and Candy Bars!?) to UES

The Upper East Side is already getting cupcakes from Beverly Hills, so why not some British cupcakes as well? According to City Biz Real Estate, the London Candy Co. has leased the 1,100-square-foot storefront at 1442 Lexington Avenue (at 94th Street), and its first U.S. location will sell “cupcakes and all types of candy imported from the United Kingdom.” Wait, does that mean those oft-nostalgicized British candy bars like the “NOT FOR GIRLS” Yorkie? Our Googling turned up next to nothing about the London Candy Co., but as the Times pointed out a few years back, the London Food Co. of Montclair, New Jersey (no relation, we’re told), is already in the business of selling Yorkies, Hob Nobs, and Cadbury Milk Chocolate Spread. Oh, and while we’re talking sweet European spreads, here’s hoping you had a happy World Nutella Day!
