Jogasaki Introduces Sushi Burritos to the Street

We’re not entirely sure who this food truck is designed for: Mexican food fans or sushi lovers? It’s certainly not the purists that Jogasaki Sushi Burrito has in mind. The big orange truck with a crude Buckaroo Banzai icon recently launched with a line of raw fish that comes stuffed inside of your choice of either tortillas or a soy wraps in the city’s first “sushi burrito” truck. So far, we see they have a lobster burrito, plus burritos with eel, spicy tuna, shrimp “fiesta,” albacore tempura, white fish, and crispy salmon skin, as well as sides like edamame, miso, and spicy tuna tempura.

The burritos, mostly priced around eight dollars, are usually rolled up with rice and avocado and reach the standard size for a burrito, meaning they’re pretty huge. It seems like food trucks sure are pressing hard for the world’s next Korean taco. We’re not so sure this is it, but if Jogasaki’s concept appeals to you, you can find the truck this afternoon at the CNN Building and track it throughout the week on Twitter while a full website is under construction.
