The Cut has pointed out that food is making headway in the fashion world (though you wouldn’t know it from the meager offerings at Lincoln Center), and a couple of items prove it today. First, the Times introduces us to a Brazilian fashion producer, Paula Barbosa, who’s making fudgelike Brazilian brigadeiros out of a commercial kitchen in the Lower East Side and selling them at My Sweet Brigadeiro. And more monumentally, the Post’s Lois Weiss, on the tail end of an article about how the Hunts Point produce market is being courted by Jersey politicians, announces that Italian fashion house Bosselli is planning a $40 million store at 717 Fifth Avenue, and it’s set to include a “five-star restaurant” à la Armani/Ristorante. But the most exciting food-fashion crossover? Check it out: Caviar nails!
