Where to Eat Indian Street Food Without The Near-Death Experience

There’s no shortage of hardships when traveling through India, but nothing may be so awful as the abundance of street meat, curry shacks, vada pav stands, and sweet vendors that tempt you from different corners, but too often result in shortening your trip to just a few paces between your bed and your bathroom (what we once considered our iron stomachs can bear witness). A forthcoming Valley restaurant might offer some relief, as Streets of India Cafe plans to open soon on Ventura Blvd. with promises to recreate the subcontinent’s spread of vegetarian street food. So they won’t have the killer kebab from Delhi’s Khan Cahacha or the mutton baida roti we ended our nights on at Mumbai’s Bade Miya, but praise be to Lord Hanuman, it’s not a food truck, and at least you’ll be able to stand up in the morning.

Streets of India Cafe, coming soon to 16260 Ventura Blvd Ste. 130. Encino.
