What to Drink and Nosh at Black Sheep, Now Open on Polk

Longtime Russian Hill denizens Vanessa and Joe Seidler just opened their wine-and-beer bar that serves food called Black Sheep (2032 Polk Street), which Vanessa earlier informed Eater was not to be called a wine bar. Nevertheless, it’s pretty wine-focused, and the food selection (see below) which we see via Thrillist, is wine-bar-esque, with olives, a charcuterie platter, and a nice-sounding cheese plate — with a couple heartier panini options like a Reuben and one with sopresatta. There’s also a nice selection of Belgian and other Euro and American beers by the bottle. Look for another opening a few blocks up, Leopold’s (in the former Antica Trattoria space at 2400 Polk), in the coming weeks.
