Touche, L.A. Creamery, touche! After this month’s announcement that it had lost its highly vaunted pastry chef, Jessica Goryl, the artisan ice-cream makers are back with the announcement that Danielle Keene, a finalist on Top Chef Just Desserts first season, has taken her place as corporate pastry chef. Keene has put in a lot of time locally, having worked at Blair’s, The Little Door, BLT Steak, and as the starting pastry chef at Santa Monica’s Wilshire. According to a press release, Keene has joined the company with a few new flavors like hot chocolate with chili powder and cocoa nibs and milk chocolate chai with seven spices and black tea. This news, along with the recent spike in temperature, suddenly make the prospects of this upstart ice creamery look much more promising as it looks to an expansion to Glendale next month.
