While New York’s or San Francisco’s storied Chinatowns might seem like the most obvious place for this country’s best Chinese restaurant to reside, Bryn Mawr, at the heart of Philadelphia’s tony Main Line, is perhaps the last place you would expect. But that is indeed the case; Bryn Mawr’s Yangming was chosen as number one in Chinese Restaurant News’ Top 100 Chinese Restaurants, KYW Newsradio reports. The 20-year-old restaurant, founded by Michael Wei, was selected from a pool of more than 45,000 Chinese restaurants in America. Wei also was recognized as one of the most “Influential Personalities in the Restaurant Industry,” along with TV chefs Martin Yan (Yan Can Cook) and Ming Tsai (Simply Ming).
