Korean tacos have captivated the foodiesphere’s collective mindset since L.A.’s Kogi Korean BBQ truck first started pedaling them. Now it appears the unlikely union of Mexican and Korean cuisine could cross over to food courts and strip malls. California Tortilla, a Rockville, MD-based chain with 37 locations, is the latest fast-food franchise to roll out Korean tacos, Nation’s Restaurant News reports. Right now the company is offering its marinated skirt steak, Korean barbecue sauce and spicy kimchi taco for a limited run. Other fast food franchises like Panda Express and Baja Fresh are also experimenting. It’s only a matter of time until the word McKimchi becomes commonplace. [NRN]
