First Look Into Rojas Eatery, Now Open in West L.A.

Last week Gricelda Peralta opened Rojas Eatery in a former La Salsa in West L.A. The small cafe is making Mexican food with a few international inspirations and a locavore angle, using market produce and responsibly-raised meats. Take that Chipotle! Along with pastries baked in-house, Peralta puts all-day breakfast at the forefront, with a namesake breakfast burrito that mixes eggs with a daily-made tomato sauce and a choice of turkey sausage, bacon, or chicken. Meats are cooked in front of you, soups are made from scratch, and buttermilk chicken is the house-specialty, finds its way into sandwiches, tacos, and burritos. Daily changing desserts included tres leches flan, banana bread, and cupcakes during our visit and starting January 22nd, Peralta will host four grand-openings every ongoing Saturday. Sounds like an original addition to Santa Monica Blvd.’s row of Mexican restaurants. Check out the full menu below and our slide show of the space.
