Celebrity Chef Watch: Grant Achatz to Visit S.F. in March

For those who’d like a chance to see and touch the living breathing chef named Grant Achatz, the third (after Keller and Kostow) American-born chef to get three Michelin stars at Chicago’s Alinea, he’s coming to town on March 17. The molecular gastronomy guru is touring with his book, Life, On the Line: A Chef’s Story of Chasing Greatness, Facing Death, and Redefining the Way We Eat, which he co-wrote with business partner Nick Kokonas, and he’ll be at Book Passage at 12:30 p.m. on March 17, and then at Omnivore Books later that evening. Among the revelations in the book: He got D-minuses in chemistry in high school.
