If hordes of hungry eaters aren’t standing on line for 40 minutes at Shake Shack, then they’re plopping into the green stools at Philly’s P.Y.T. for a sit-down cheeseburger, or bro-ing it up over bar food at L.A.’s Staples Center. If a different mood strikes, they might hit the Papalote chain in S.F. or feed that taco fix at Big Star in Chicago. Only Bostonites had the most check-ins at someplace halfway upscale, brasserie Eastern Standard — but even that place is known for its cheeseburger.
