First came the heartbreaking news today that Vegas might just have better food than NYC, and now we learn via the Feast’s roundup of restaurants with the most Foursquare check-ins that Americans, even tech-savvy ones, pretty much only want to eat burgers and tacos. If hordes of hungry eaters aren’t standing on line for 40 minutes at Shake Shack, then they’re plopping into the green stools at Philly’s P.Y.T. for a sit-down cheeseburger, or bro-ing it up over bar food at L.A.’s Staples Center. If a different mood strikes, they might hit the Papalote chain in S.F. or feed that taco fix at Big Star in Chicago. Only Bostonites had the most check-ins at someplace halfway upscale, brasserie Eastern Standard — but even that place is known for its cheeseburger.
