What to Eat at Wasabi, Now Open

After putting up an awning in early July, removing it in October, and replacing it with a smart little sign, Wasabi in Logan Square opened quietly last week. The husband and wife owners wanted to test the menu with a soft opening, and are expecting to have the official grand opening tomorrow. The menu is mostly Japanese, with some slight Korean accents. We snuck in early to get a peek of what was being offered last weekend.

Though not exactly novel, the Japanese and Korean combination makes perfect sense when we found out that one spouse is Japanese and the other is Korean. But that doesn’t explain why the menu is so massive. It features sections for small plates, grilled skewers, fried skewers, salads, teriyaki, soups and noodles, and a full sushi bar. It’s hard to know where to begin. Luckily, it’s BYOB, and plans to stay so permanently. Take a look at the full menu below, along with a short slideshow.
