What to Eat at Salatino’s

Another day, another opening for Scott Harris and his Italian food empire. As advertised, it’s a reboot of the old Gennaro’s on Taylor, albeit one with a much bigger dinning area and great black booths that would make Sinatra proud. Also, after someone in the family objected to the use of the name, it was changed to Salatino’s. Luckily, it’s essentially the same menu, and features a collection of Italian-American classics like spaghetti and meatballs, Chicken Vesuvio, and baked mostaccioli. It’s kind of amazing to stare at something that hasn’t changed in what could be forty years. But, as Grant Achatz might as say, “What’s old is new.” [Thrillist]
