You didn’t really think Robert Sietsema would make it all the way through the holiday season without making a poop reference, did you? (If you did, then you don’t know Sietsema.) Lucky for us, he didn’t! In a Fork in the Road post about wacky Christmas practices from around the world, the Voice writer manages to track down traditions like a “pooping” log from Spain, Norwegian (and Minnesotan) lutefisk, and Italian eel-eating, which you just know is the last one he added to the list, since it isn’t so wacky, especially by Sietsema’s standards.
