One of the first openings we’re likely to see in Jack Knowles’s aforementioned new complex in the former New College complex on Valencia will be a second location of the successful Tacolicious, which opened in January in the Marina. Also attached will be a tequila bar called Mosto, and owner Joe Hargrave tells the Scoop he’s aiming for late spring or early summer. Purists are likely to scoff at these new-fangled tacos moving in on the already, authentic-taco-rich territory of the Mission, but tequila sure has its fans. Perhaps this will do better than Kasa did in trying to expand to the Marina — we all know these are practically two different cities we’re talking about. Also of note: Tacolicious’s now famous “Marina Girl Salad” will have to morph into the “Skinny Jeans Salad,” Mission-side.
