With The Dandelion set to go tomorrow at 3 p.m. — a press release issued this morning confirms it — what can we expect next from Stephen Starr? In the past year we’ve heard that the restaurateur has his sights set on a host of different projects, including Route 6, a casual seafooder on North Broad, an unnamed beer garden on East Girard Ave., an unnamed collaboration with Talula’s Table’s Aimee Olexy in the former Washington Square space, and maybe/maybe not something in the former Broad Street Diner. Grub Street’s placing its bets on Il Pittore, the casual neighborhood Italian joint that Starr partnered with his longtime culinary director, Chris Painter, to create.

Il Pittore was originally slated for an opening this past fall in the former home of Ansill at Third and Bainbridge streets, but relocated to the former Deux Cheminées location at 12th and Locust streets. An ad on Craigslist this week for a sous chef says Il Pittore will open “spring 2011.”
