South L.A. Fast Food Moratorium Likely To Remain

The future of fast food in South L.A. hangs in the balance today as L.A. City Council prepares for a Wednesday vote on whether the moratorium banning new establishments should be upheld, following its expiration in September. So far, it looks like the ban on cheap, greasy, unhealthy eats will remain as a council committee is recommending it stay. Council member Jan Perry sums it up when saying, “Westwood and Venice have community design guidelines for new construction and renovations; South Los Angeles deserves the same.” [Daily Breeze]
