Rolf’s Patisserie Offers Apology

After a 100 people were reported to have gotten sick, Rolf’s Patisserie in nearby Lincolnwood, recalled all of their pastries made after November 1. So what happened? Well, according to a statement on their website, they are taking the “precaution of conducting a voluntary recall” after “people reported becoming ill at functions where our desserts were served.” If you are still in possession of something from the shop the company advises you to “remove and discard all Rolf’s products in circulation.” Check out the full statement below.

Regulatory authorities are investigating several incidents in which people reported becoming ill at functions where our desserts were served. Rolfs Patisserie is working in close cooperation with these agencies while their investigation continues. In order to protect our interests of our customers, we are taking the precaution of conducting a voluntary recall of all products made after November 1, 2010. We advise you to remove and discard all Rolf’s products in circulation. We are working diligently to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause and we assure you that we are taking all actions necessary to maintain your trust.
